Barcelona make Jadon Sancho transfer decision ahead of January window

Jadon Sancho is facing an uncertain future at Manchester United following his public dispute with manager Erik ten Hag after the winger was left out of the Dutchman’s squad for a Premier League game earlier this season.

Sancho has not featured in any of the matchday squads since then and he has also been banished from training with the first team, with the former Manchester City youngster now training with the club’s academy players.

Just over two years into his United career, Sancho finds himself at a crossroads and there are no signs of Sancho and Ten Hag finding common ground and solving the issue.

As things stand, a mid-season departure is looking increasingly likely for a player fans had great hopes for and as expected, a number of top European clubs have been linked with a move for Sancho.

Barcelona, who were heavily linked with the 23-year-old before he joined United, are said to be holding a longstanding interest in Sancho and the Catalan giants have been linked again following his exile at Old Trafford.

Now, there is an update on Barcelona’s interest as local outlet SPORT claim that Xavi Hernandez’s men are not planning on bringing Sancho in on loan in the upcoming winter transfer window.

It is, however, stated that Barcelona could consider making a move for Sancho next summer if the player reduced his wage demands, which are said to be a stumbling block at this point.

That’s an issue for next year but for now, it looks like Barcelona have made their mind up on Sancho. From United’s perspective, they will be keen on cashing in on one of their most valuable assets before his value plummets.

Sancho still comes with good resale value despite not reaching the heights that were expected when United made him one of the most expensive English players of all time two years ago.
