Christian Eriksen has lifted the lid on his relationship with Rasmus Hojlund and how the forward has quickly settled into life at Manchester United.
The 20-year-old got off the mark with his first-ever goal against Bayern Munich last month in the Champions League, before following it up with a brace in the second group-stage clash.
Whilst Hojlund is still searching for that elusive, debut Premier League goal, fans have no doubts that it will come soon enough. His performances since making the switch in the summer have been like a breath of fresh air for the Old Trafford faithful – to finally see a young, hungry, strong and pacey striker lead the line has been long awaited.
He’s now on his way to take part on international duty over the next two weeks with Denmark, where he’ll play alongside fellow Red Eriksen. Hojlund is the second top goalscorer in Euro 2024 qualifying, tied with Saturday’s match-winner Scott McTominay on six.
Eriksen on Hojlund
Eriksen divulged the friendship between himself and Hojlund while speaking to Ekstrabladet.
“We’ve been out to eat, he’s been over at my house, and we see each other every day at the club,” the midfielder said. “He doesn’t need to be put in place. I have given him my advice, and he has chosen to live close to the stadium and the training facility, so he has listened there.
“He is very mature in his approach to things. Of course, he sometimes says some things that are… youth things, I don’t even think the words exist, but he has his head in the right place.”
He added: “I think Rasmus has been a wise purchase. He’s a guy who fits into the squad, fits into the way of playing, understands the coach’s ideas, and he’s a good guy who works hard.”
