Andre Onana included in Cameroon squad

Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has been included in Cameroon’s 24-man squad for the upcoming international break.

An array of Manchester United stars will go on international duty following Saturday’s Premier League meeting with Brentford.

Onana has been called up for Cameroon’s friendly matches against Russia next Thursday before they take on Senegal four days later.

United fans were left bemused when Onana returned to the Cameroon squad last month for the first time since initially announcing his retirement from international football during their 2022 World Cup campaign in Qatar.

It means Onana will be missing for the AFCON and Erik ten Hag will be without his first-choice keeper.

This is far from ideal for a side that has started the season with so many absentees in defence, not to mention how Onana hasn’t had the best start to life at United after a number of questionable displays between the sticks since joining the club in the summer.
