Alejandro Garnacho called up to represent Argentina in World Cup qualifiers

Alejandro Garnacho has been called up by Lionel Scaloni to represent Argentina in their upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

The 19-year-old, who is fresh off the back of becoming a father, will join up with the world champions over the international break for their two fixtures.

On Friday, October 13, they take on Paraguay at the Estadio Mas Monumental at a 12am kick-off time for any UK-based supporters wanting to tune in.

Argentina then travel to face Peru on Wednesday, October 18 at the National Stadium of Peru, with action scheduled to get underway at 3am.

Garnacho seeking debut international goal

Garnacho scored his first goal of the season against Crystal Palace last week and is still awaiting his maiden international goal, which would do wonders for his confidence when it comes.

Lisandro Martinez was omitted from the squad due to his recent injury layoff. He is expected to miss around two to three months while he looks to finally recover from the metatarsal problem.
