Sofyan Amrabat has admitted that he’s keen to make his Manchester United transfer permanent – but he isn’t letting it distract him just yet.

The Moroccan made his full debut on Tuesday evening during the Reds’ 3-0 win over Crystal Palace. He was deployed out of position at left-back in Sergio Reguilon’s absence but covered almost every blade of grass on the pitch while showcasing his versatility and passing abilities.

An injury that he sustained in pre-season had kept him out of United’s early fixtures of the campaign, but now he’s fit to feature and will be looking to make an instant impact on the team, who have already sustained four losses this term.

The Old Trafford faithful have high hopes for what Amrabat will add under Erik ten Hag in the coming weeks, especially judging by his first two appearances as a Red.

Amrabat longs for permanent United deal

Amrabat, 27, will technically return to Fiorentina when his loan spell expires next summer, but he’s keeping his fingers crossed that a deal can be agreed that sees him stay in Manchester long-term.

He said last night (via The Times): “Of course, I would love to stay here, but I don’t look too far in the future. I hope we have a fantastic season, win something, and then we will see what will happen. The only thing I can do now is give everything that I have.

“When I make a step on the pitch, for me it’s normal that you give everything, that you fight for every metre and give your all for the team and fight for the badge. That’s the minimum.”
