Mason Greenwood cheered by Getafe fans at presentation

Mason Greenwood has trained with Getafe for the first time since his loan move from Manchester United.

It was announced last month that Greenwood, 21, would continue his career away from Old Trafford. That led to him being presented as a Getafe player on Tuesday.

Ahead of his suspension at United, Greenwood faced charges including attempted rape and assault, but the Crown Prosecution Service announced in February that they had dropped all charges against the player.

Getafe are currently promoting Greenwood like they’ve given Richard Arnold access to their social media accounts, but it also looks like their fans are enjoying his arrival.

In one video message shared on Getafe’s X account, Greenwood said: “Hi Getafe fans, it’s Mason here. I’m so happy to be here and I can’t wait to get started.”

Other posts showed Greenwood being applauded by fans in the stadium before the cheers continued throughout the open training session.

Greenwood is under contact at United until June 2025, but his loan move to Getafe will run for just one year.
