Manchester United expect Luke Shaw to return from injury in ten weeks.

Shaw picked up a thigh muscle injury during United’s defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, which has led to the club launching a pursuit to sign Tottenham Hotspur’s Sergio Reguilon on loan.

United looked at signing Marc Cucurella from Chelsea, but Mauricio Pochettino’s decision to play him in the Carabao Cup last night forced the Reds to change their mind.

So, with the 10 week update from the Daily Mail, we are looking at Shaw returning in November. That gives Regulion — or whoever we sign on a short-term deal — a chance to prove himself.

It also means that the injury isn’t as bad as some feared, amid reports that Shaw could be out until the new year. That would’ve been a huge blow to Erik ten Hag.

Reguilon spent last season on loan at Atletico Madrid and he has not featured in a competitive game under Ange Postecoglou.

Yet he suddenly has an opportunity to get a run of games for Manchester United.
