Manchester United make stance on Harry Maguire clear amid Everton and West Ham loan approaches

Manchester United have reportedly rebuffed fresh interest from Premier League clubs in Harry Maguire.

The centre-back’s future has remained unclear all summer and as we approach the Friday deadline, many of the Old Trafford faithful are bewildered at the fact that Maguire is still a United player.

However, that’s still the case and it certainly looks as though he’ll be spending the season warming the bench in M16 – barring any injuries or suspensions to the backline, that is.

Metro has reported that Everton saw a loan offer for Maguire rejected today, with United confirming that they would only consider bids for a permanent transfer.

Irons reignite Maguire interest

The Reds have also blocked a new approach from West Ham United, as per The Times. The Irons saw their £30 million offer accepted last month and were awaiting his arrival but the 30-year-old did not agree personal terms and the deal eventually collapsed. There is a belief that David Moyes would like to welcome him on a season-long loan, but he’ll have no joy in that pursuit.

Maguire is yet to feature for United this season and has instead been an unused substitute for the opening three fixtures. Given England’s stark competition at centre half, you’d think he’d have forced a move to secure his spot in Gareth Southgate’s squad for the Euro 2024 tournament.

  1. Thank you , but no thank you, we already have an accident prone c/back in M. Keane but, if you manage to off load yours to W/ham you are quite welcome to replace him with ours.
