Man Utd set to make fourth signing of the summer after deal is agreed with Premier League club

Manchester United are edging closer to making their fourth signing of the summer as one more significant departure is also expected to go through.

Fred, David de Gea and Alex Telles are some of the first-team regulars to have left the club and now, Dean Henderson will become the latest player to call time on his career at Old Trafford.

Henderson has experienced difficulties convincing any of the three previous managers that he is good enough to claim a first-choice place in the side and following De Gea’s exit, with Andre Onana brought in to replace him, it became increasingly clear that he would be leaving.

Henderson had been heavily linked with a move to Nottingham Forest after spending last season on loan at the City Ground but a move collapsed and now, it looks like Henderson is joining Crystal Palace.

That’s according to the BBC, who say that United have agreed a fee with Palace over Henderson’s transfer and the 26-year-old will undergo a medical at the London club this weekend.

Henderson’s departure will also allow United to make their fourth signing of the summer, with Turkish goalkeeper Altay Bayindir set to join as Henderson’s replacement.

As per the report, United have agreed a £4.3m fee with Fenerbahce for Bayindir, who is believed to be joining the club as backup to Onana.

Henderson’s exit has been looming in the background for a number of years but getting his wages off the bill and hopefully, a reasonable transfer sum, could mean United now have the freedom to strengthen other areas in the market.
