Man United vs Wolves confirmed lineups: Garnacho starts in attack

Manchester United will kick their 2023-24 season off with a home Premier League tie against Wolves.

Game Week One’s final fixture will see Erik Ten Hag’s Red Devils host Wolves at Old Trafford on Monday night.

Despite experiencing an up-and-down pre-season, which included just four wins from eight games, Manchester United will be tonight’s overwhelming favourites to take all three points.

Wolves saw Julen Lopetegui quit the club just a few days before the start of the season with former Bournemouth boss Gary O’Neil succeeding the Spanish tactician.

Consequently, with the Midlands-based side facing a tough opening fixture, Ten Hag will be feeling quietly confident his side can get off to a winning start.

And naming his very first competitive starting 11 of the new season, the Dutchman has opted to go with a predictably strong lineup which includes Andre Onana and Mason Mount making their competitive club debuts.

Alejandro Garnacho has also seen his fine pre-season form rewarded with a start and will partner Marcus Rashford and Antony in attack.

Elsewhere, Aaron Wan-Bissaka starts at right-back ahead of Diogo Dalot with Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez and Luke Shaw making up the rest of Ten Hag’s defence.

Alongside Mount, Casemiro joins captain Bruno Fernandes in midfield.
