Harry Maguire’s move to West Ham at risk of collapsing

West Ham United are growing increasingly frustrated with how long it is taking to finalise Harry Maguire’s transfer.

Having seen a £30 million offer accepted by Manchester United, the Hammers have been hopeful they could sign the England defender on a permanent deal.

However, according to a recent report from the Telegraph, David Moyes’ side may be forced to consider alternative defensive options because of a hold-up in Maguire’s potential move.

The delay is thought to be United’s side, as opposed to West Ham’s, or even the player’s side, but with Maguire’s contract thought to see him earn around £ 200,000 per week, there has been speculation the Red Devils are working on a compensation package before giving the deal the green light.

Nevertheless, with just two weeks left in the summer window, if Maguire is to move on in search of regular game time, his current club must work quickly to appease what has so far been the only interested party.
