Manchester United players to consider putting in your FPL team – opinion

A new season brings many things, one of which is the return of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) a hugely popular extension of the Premier League season now played by around 10 million people worldwide.

For those unfamiliar with the game, it’s a simple premise. You have £100m to build tour squad of 15 players to score as many points as possible over the season, so long as you stick to the formation rules and you’re limited to three players from any one club.

With that out of the way, who might be the best picks from the Reds?

Marcus Rashford (9m Midfielder)

Let’s get the obvious out of the way, last season Rashford was United’s top scorer and one of the highest scoring players in FPL. You’d have to back him to continue in that vein so, despite the huge price hike from last season, Rashford should still be the go-to United pick.

Bruno Fernandes (8.5 Midfielder)

Now this is an interesting one. This is the cheapest our Portuguese Magnifico has ever been in FPL. After a poor, by his standards, season in terms of output he’s seen a big drop in price and may have to share sone set pieces. But he’s still basically playing every minute, is central to everything and is still our penalty taker. He could make a mockery of that price tag

Andre Onana (Goalkeeper 5m)

Generally it’s usually get the best, cheapest starting goalkeeper you can, usually costing 4.5m. But Onana maybe worth the extra spend . With his major involvement in our build-up he’s a real contender for bonus points with a clean sheet and there’s always saves to top up his points.

If you didn’t want to pick one of these options the next best, in my opinion are Luke Shaw (5.5m defender) who has great attacking threat and some set pieces, Mason Mount (7m midfielder) who’ll hope to rediscover his best form. Given his injury it’s too early to pick Rasmus Hojlund (7m forward)
