West Ham agree deal in principle with Manchester United for Harry Maguire

West Ham have agreed a £30m transfer fee for Harry Maguire.

The Hammers have been linked with a move for the Manchester United centre-back since the transfer window opened, with David Moyes believed to be pushing for his signature.

Maguire, 30, lost his place in the team last season under Erik ten Hag. He also lost the responsibility of being club captain this summer and many will say the writing has been on the wall since then.

According to a new report from Sky Sports, West Ham have an agreement in principle with United for a deal worth in the region of £30 million.

West Ham’s initial bid of £20 million was rejected by United immediately.

They also suggest personal terms will not be an issue. That may be a hint that Maguire is willing to take a pay cut to play for the Hammers.

There are also suggestions that West Ham are trying to sign Scott McTominay, but the Reds will demand more money for the Scotland international.

United also know West Ham have plenty of money after selling Declan Rice for £105m earlier this summer.
