Manchester United youngster has impressed Ten Hag in pre-season, permanent move now ruled out

Hannibal Mejbri has seized his pre-season opportunities with both hands and impressed Erik ten Hag with his performances.

Now, as the summer draws to a close, Manchester United have ruled out a permanent exit for the 20-year-old, according to Manchester Evening News.

Hannibal had garnered an abundance of interest from clubs in England and Europe that were keen to acquire his signature, one of which was Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund, who were willing to pay around €15 million to sanction his arrival.

Loan move likely for Hannibal

However, his efforts on the pitch have convinced Ten Hag to keep him at United while he continues his development. A loan move remains likely though, and newly-promoted Luton Town are in talks to take the Tunisian for the season.

Such a move would provide Hannibal with crucial experience in the top flight after his recent stint in the Championship with Birmingham City, which lets Ten Hag gauge how he would fit into the first-team squad when he’s ready for a permanent role.
