Manchester United set Donny van de Beek price tag amid Real Sociedad interest

Manchester United want £25 million to sell Donny van de Beek amid interest from Real Sociedad.

The Netherlands midfielder signed for United in 2020 from Ajax, costing the club around £35m.

After struggling to make his mark at Old Trafford under more than one manager, it looks like Van de Beek’s days in a United shirt are numbered.

Van de Beek has struggled to earn a starting role since his switch to United, and the arrival of Mason Mount only pushes him further down the pecking order.

On top of that, United are interested in adding Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat to their squad ahead of the new season. The writing is on the wall for Van de Beek.

Real Sociedad have been linked with a move for Van de Beek, although there is question marks over the player’s salary demands. The Daily Mail suggest United want £25m to let him go this summer.

That appears to be an ambitious asking price, given the length of time Van de Beek spent out injured last season.

Van de Beek will have to accept lower wages elsewhere if he wants a move away move.
