Fabrizio Romano hints Manchester United bound Rasmus Hojlund won’t play for Atalanta again

Manchester United transfer target Rasmus Hojlund has been left out of Atalanta’s squad to face Bournemouth in a pre-season friendly.

Hojlund, 20, has been viewed as Erik ten Hag’s top target after being priced out of a move for Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen.

It is understood these are decisive hours as advanced negotiations are ongoing for United to sign the exciting Danish sensation.

Fabrizio Romano claims Hojlund will not play for Atalanta against Premier League outfit Bournemouth to avoid the chance of a deal being complicated through potential injury, with the Denmark international on the verge of becoming a United player.

This is also a suggestion from Romano that Hojlund may have made his final appearance for the Serie A outfit, after one year in Italy.

These are positive signs for fans that have worried that United won’t have a centre-forward for the new season.

I think everyone can agree from this point that we can no longer rely on Anthony Martial. That ship has sailed and we would have been able to sell him this summer if he didn’t have a ridiculous salary.
