Marcus Rashford was rightfully rewarded with contract extension

Marcus Rashford has officially put pen to paper on a five-year contract extension with Manchester United.

The club confirmed the news this afternoon, which came as a welcome update to the Old Trafford faithful.

Last season, Rashford oversaw his most prolific season to date; he netted 30 goals in the campaign for the first time in his career and was irreplaceable in the starting 11.

His contributions catapulted United to a top-four finish and he even made his mark in ending the club’s six-year trophy drought when he netted the second goal in the Carabao Cup final in February.

It then came as no surprise that the England international was named Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year at the end of the term.

Without the extension, Rashford’s contract would’ve ended in 2024, making him free to speak to international clubs from January – a nightmare scenario for Erik ten Hag and United fans.

The 25-year-old has been at the club since he was seven years old and now will remain a Red until past his 30th birthday. More than anyone in the squad, he knows what it means to be United through and through – he’s Wythenshawe born, Manc born & bred.

He proved this further by rejecting lucrative proposals from clubs in England and across Europe, committing his long-term future only to his boyhood team.

When looking at Carrington, he’s one of the best United have to offer – just like the best payout online casino Australia.

Our No.10 spoke on his new deal in a chat with club media, saying: “I joined Manchester United as a seven-year-old boy with a dream. That same passion, pride, and determination to succeed still drives me every time I have the honour of wearing the shirt.

“I’ve already had some amazing experiences at this incredible club, but there is still a lot more to achieve and I remain relentlessly determined to win more trophies in the years ahead.

“As a United fan all my life, I know the responsibility that comes with representing this badge and feel the highs and lows as much as anyone. I can assure you that I will give everything to help the team reach the level we are capable of, and I can feel the same determination around the dressing room. I couldn’t be more excited for the future under this manager.”

Here’s to another scintillating season in Red!
