Manchester United and Inter Milan share desire to reach resolution over Andre Onana

Manchester United are in talks with Inter Milan as they look to reach an agreement over the fee for Andre Onana.

It is understood that Erik ten Hag wants to reunite with his former Ajax goalkeeper after David de Gea’s contract expired last week. Furthermore, reports suggest that could lead to United signing two new keepers this summer.

According to Melissa Reddy of Sky Sports, Manchester United remain in dialogue with Inter Milan as they work to find a compromise over the fee for Andre Onana, which could be in the region of £45 million (€52.2m) inclusive of add-ons.

Inter want £51m (€60m) and their public stance is Onana will stay unless that figure is met by an interested club.

Onana has already pushed back advances from Saudi Arabia and it is believed he did that to get a move to United instead.

However, United’s opening bid of £38.5m won’t be enough to get a deal over the line.

Sky Sports add there’s a desire from all parties involved to reach a resolution before Onana is due to report for pre-season on July 13.

Onana has made it clear that his intention is to move to United – as well as there being optimism a proposal of around £40m up front plus £5m in add-ons (€52.5m) could be enough.
