Lisandro Martinez returns to Carrington early

Manchester United fans will be delighted to see Lisandro Martinez back at Carrington ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.

The World Cup winner has been out of action since April, following a metatarsal injury he sustained against Sevilla in the Europa League. That ruled him out for the rest of the season but we are all looking forward to having him back in time for the new season.

Following a careful rehabilitation and the off-season weeks that followed, Martinez has announced his delight at returning to Carrington via Twitter.

Some players are due back as soon as next week and it looks like Martinez will be involved in training with that group.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Dean Henderson was also present at Carrington this afternoon. The goalkeeper has been heavily linked with a move to Nottingham Forest.

Martinez became a fans’ favourite during his first season at Old Trafford. Ten Hag knows he needs the Argentine fit for the team to be at its very best.

In total, Martinez made 45 appearances for United last term.
