Manchester United are set for a busy transfer window this summer and there are a number of senior incomings and outgoings expected as Erik ten Hag continues to revolutionise the club.

The Dutchman oversaw over 10 senior departures last summer and more are expected this year, with first-team regulars expected to part ways with the club.

Harry Maguire is one of many senior players with rapidly declining careers, with the England international slipping down to fourth in Ten Hag’s centre-back pecking order.

Further up the pitch, Scott McTominay lost his place to Casemiro in the side after initially starting the season in fine form. Eventually, January loan signing Marcel Sabitzer also snuck ahead of him.

Now, it is being reported that United are looking to sell both players. That’s according to The Telegraph, who say that there is interest from West Ham United in both players amid the Reds’ interest in Declan Rice.

As per the report, United retain an interest in Rice and McTominay could be used as a makeweight in any proposal. Maguire, who West Ham are also keen on, is viewed as a more difficult target due to his high wages.

Rice is the subject of interest from some of Europe’s leading clubs, with Manchester City, Arsenal and Bayern Munich all registering interest in the Hammers skipper.

SN’s verdict…
It became increasingly clear that both players were being phased out of the side as the season went on and it is no surprise to see both players up for sale on the market.

With the uncertain future of the club’s ownership, it is fair to assume that United may have to raise capital through player sales and McTominay and Maguire both come with good value.
