Reports in Italy claim Manchester United are making progress on a deal to sign Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana.
Manchester United are understood to be seeking additions in the goalkeeper department. The club has yet to find common ground over a new contract with David de Gea, and there’s already been talks with Onana’s entourage.
Erik ten Hag, who had Onana at Ajax, has usually preferred a keeper who can adopt a high starting position to allow his defensive line to push further forward.
The Dutchman is also looking for a keeper who can help improve United’s build up play.
In turn, Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport claim United are ramping up a move for Onana. They even suggest the Cameroon international could move to United ‘next week’.
As cited by FCInterNews, Gazzetta dello Sport state the deal is ‘now written’ and the transfer fee is set at €50 million.
Only time will tell if we can believe these reports.
