Chelsea stand firm on £70m valuation for Mason Mount

Chelsea are standing firm over their valuation of Mason Mount, even though there’s just one year left on the midfield’s current deal.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea do not want to negotiate for Mount this summer, despite Manchester United’s concrete interest.

While United have already agreed personal terms with the wantaway Chelsea midfielder, the Reds are yet to lodge an official bid.

It is believed that the Stamford Bridge club are holding out for £70 million and below that figure.

Romano also believes the situation could change in the coming days, with Mount keen to complete a switch to Old Trafford before the start of next season.

Stretty News verdict

For starters, I can see why Erik ten Hag is targeting a player like Mount.

But it only makes sense if we can get him in a cut price deal.

Anything more than £50m will be sniggered at for a player with one-year left on his deal.
