Mason Mount not impressed with Chelsea contract offer

One of the reasons Mason Mount wants to leave Chelsea is down to a contract issue.

Manchester United have already managed to agree personal terms with the England international, who is coming into the last year of his current deal, and Chelsea have been unable to offer him an acceptable extension proposal.

This will infuriate the fans who want Mount to stay beyond the summer. It is bound to raise questions over selling fan favourite academy stars rather than giving them the deals they deserve.

That has led to Mount having talks with United and agreeing personal terms ahead of a switch.

ESPN have done a report explaining why Mount isn’t happy at Chelsea. They claim that Reece James’ new deal saw the full-back earn £250,000-per-week.

In response to that, Mount doesn’t believe they’ve offered him a comparable salary.

There will be cases at clubs where some players deserve bigger deals than others, but Mount feels hard done by here.

It remains to be seen what sort of pay package Mount would receive at United.
