Juan Mata wins Turkish Super Lig one year after Manchester United release

Even though it was time to say goodbye last year, Juan Mata was a player who built a strong connection with Manchester United fans down the years.

It was the same during his time at Chelsea due to his polite approach and sheer professionalism.

Unlike other players that left us a year ago, prior to Erik ten Hag’s arrival, I’ve kept one eye on Juan Mata’s season in Turkey and it’s satisfying to hear that it ended in success.

Galatasaray were crowned champions of the Turkish league last night following a 4-1 win over Ankaragucu.

After joining the Turkish giants on a free transfer last summer, turning down offers to move to the United States and elsewhere, Mata went on to win the title in his first season at the club.

Mata made 15 appearances for Galatasaray this season, scoring three goals.

There is a chance that Mata could move on again this summer and what better way to do that than as a champion?

Congratulations to Juan Mata.
