‘He’s been incredible’ – Amad Diallo receives high praise from Sunderland teammate

Manchester United loanee Amad Diallo kickstarted Sunderland’s final push for a play-off place this afternoon.

The Ivorian added another stunning goal to his catalogue with the opening goal of Sunderland’s trip to face Preston North End this afternoon.

Amad didn’t even need to take a touch before firing home an absolute wonder-strike into the top corner – the kind of finishing that would be a welcome sight at Old Trafford next season!

The Black Cats’ 3-0 win subsequently extended the youngster’s loan spell, as they booked their place in the play-offs after finishing sixth-placed in the Championship table.

They’ll face Luton Town in the first leg at the Stadium of Light next Saturday, May 13 before taking on the second leg the following Tuesday, May 16.

20-year-old Amad finished the campaign as Sunderland’s top goalscorer in the league with 13 goals to his name, picking up four assists along the way.

O’Nien on Amad

His teammate Luke O’Nien heaped praise on the attacker following the full-time whistle, saying (via Football Daily): “I said it the other day to someone, the day he came in, the standards he’s raised just in terms of what he does on the ball is incredible. [To Amad] So yeah, thank you, man! You’ve still got a job to do! But yeah he’s been incredible, we love him and I know the fans love him as well.”
