A lot will depend on the potential takeover of Manchester United, but as of now Erik ten Hag doesn’t know how much money will have to spend in the summer.
The future looks bleak with the Glazers remaining in charge, so United fans will be hoping this is the end of the American family.
Ten Hag’s primary target this summer is believed to be a striker, with many outlets suggesting he is a big fan of Tottenham’s Harry Kane.
But there is always a fear Daniel Levy could prove to be a tough negotiator, and we’ll probably need Kane to force a move, with his contract running until 2024.
Former United striker Louis Saha believes Osimhen should be the top target after helping Napoli to a league title this season, scoring 22 goals in 27 games.
Saha told Daznbet, as per The Sun: “There are not many alternatives to Kane for Man Utd. Victor Osimhen is an obvious one at the moment, though, he’s scoring a lot of goals for Napoli.
“Very fit, very strong and agile. But it may take him more time to adapt.”
The problem with Osimhen is that he will also cost United a fortune. Napoli are not going to let any of their key players to leave on the cheap this summer, especially when they are under contract and without a release clause.
Saha adds two more strikers who he thinks should be on Ten Hag’s Wishlist this summer.
He said: “Not only as a number 9, he can play either side of a three. He’s a very clever player, very quick, sharp with his feet and very intelligent.
“He’s already established a good link with Kylian Mbappe for France.
“He’s aware of everything, he has the talent to go short or long, he’s very clever and he will be a real danger in the Premier League if he comes, especially with Rashford and Sancho.
“That will be really hard for defences. It could be a very clever move, there is room for improvement. There are lots of names like that who can contribute.
“But Muani is a very intelligent player, he has lots of stamina, he can run all day and will fit into the game plan that Ten Hag loves. He’s one for the future.
“There is a young boy, Hojlund at Atalanta. But no one offers the guarantees like Kane does.”
