Teddy Sheringham gives verdict on Harry Kane’s future

Teddy Sheringham drew comparison between his own move from Tottenham to Manchester United in the 1990s and Harry Kane’s ongoing situation.

Former Manchester United and Tottenham striker Teddy Sheringham knows a thing or two about moving up north to win trophies.

Sheringham even suggests Tottenham fans would accept their all-time leading goalscorer moving to another club.

Kane has been heavily linked with a move to United in the summer, but he has yet to make a decision over his future.

Many believe Kane should move in the summer because it doesn’t look like he will be winning any trophies at Tottenham. At least United won the Carabao Cup this summer and have reached the FA Cup final.

“I joined United because I felt that Tottenham were not going to allow me to compete for trophies – I didn’t think the club were going to bring in the players that would have enabled us to challenge for the biggest prizes,” Sheringham told Lord Ping, as cited by FourFourTwo.

“Harry has got to look at the situation at the club and ask himself the same questions that I did. If he doesn’t think that the club are going to be able to bring in players that would see them competing, then I don’t think there’s a single Tottenham fan that would begrudge him the opportunity to win trophies with another club.”
