Erik ten Hag was quizzed on the fitness and expected return of club captain Harry Maguire.
The defender missed last night’s away clash with Tottenham Hotspur due to injury, so Luke Shaw retained his place at centre-back alongside Victor Lindelof.
Manchester United had a dominant first half and found the back of the net twice through Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford, however, things took a turn for the worst after the interval.
The pressure completely flipped and saw United having to navigate Spurs’ constant flurries of attacks, with the London side eventually pulling the tie level at 2-2. Certainly, a case of two points dropped rather than one gained for the Red Devils.
Ten Hag on Maguire
Post-match, Ten Hag spoke to the media and was asked about Maguire’s status, as the England international is now on an extended list of injured Reds, and whether or not he would be fit to feature against Aston Villa this Sunday at Old Trafford.
He responded (via the club website): “In this moment, I can’t say anything about that. We have to wait, to talk with the medical and to talk with Harry. We will see.”
