Manchester United are back in action as Erik ten Hag looks to secure yet another trip to Wembley this season, with this weekend’s FA Cup semi-final against Brighton giving the Reds the chance to set up a mouthwatering finale against cross-city rivals Manchester City next month.

United are in desperate need of a victory and a pick-me-up following the embarrassing exit from the Europa League earlier this week and Ten Hag has now revealed which 11 players he has trusted to achieve that.

As expected, Bruno Fernandes returns to the side after he missed the trip to Seville through suspension and there are further significant changes to the side.

Harry Maguire and Jadon Sancho both endured horrible nights in Andalusia and both players are out of the semi-final, with Maguire suspended and Sancho dropped.

Maguire is replaced by Luke Shaw, who is likely to slot in at centre-back as he has done previously this season. Sancho is replaced by Marcus Rashford, who made his highly anticipated return from injury in Seville.

Anthony Martial is fit to start the game after hobbling off the pitch against Sevilla with an apparent knee injury and all-in-all, with all injuries taken into consideration, Ten Hag will feel like he has named the strongest team disposable to him.

Confirmed Manchester United line-up (4-2-3-1): De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Shaw, Dalot; Casemiro, Eriksen; Antony, Fernandes, Rashford; Martial
