Paul Scholes is feeling confident ahead of Thursday night’s Europa League quarter-final second leg between Manchester United and Sevilla.
The legendary former midfielder, now working as a pundit for broadcaster BT Sport, has spoken to the club’s media in Seville ahead of tonight’s blockbuster European clash.
Despite racing to a 2-0 lead in the reverse fixture at Old Trafford last week, injuries to Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez prompted a mid-game shuffle from Erik Ten Hag, and following some unfortunate errors, the Red Devils ended up conceding two late goals as their Spanish opponents levelled the tie at 2-2.
Looking to right the wrongs of last week’s result, United will know that they’ll need to be at their absolute best if they’re to book their place in the Europa League’s semi-finals – and Scholes expects his old side to do just that.
After being asked for his predictions for the mouth-watering tie, Scholes tipped United to win 3-1 with striker Anthony Martial not only opening the scoring but also being awarded the game’s ‘Man of the Match’ award.
