Journalist Dean Jones has weighed in on Jadon Sancho’s current form for Manchester United.

The attacker has looked out of sorts lately and fans have voiced their frustrations at his lack of contributions or attacking threat on the pitch.

Sancho has registered five goals and two assists across the season so far, though he did take several weeks out of action to work on both his physical and mental health, which is understandable, as you want your players to be feeling good in themselves if they’re competing at the highest level.

However, it’s been a very slow start to the Englishman’s life as a Red and it’s a complete turnaround from his stint at Borussia Dortmund. The numbers speak for themselves; 50 goals and 64 assists in 137 appearances at the German club.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Jones weighed in on the ongoing criticism and debate regarding the 23-year-old.

“His performances are a little frustrating. He seems to just take that split second longer to do things than he probably would have in the past. I don’t know whether it’s a hesitation, because he’s not as sure of himself as he used to be.

“I’m not sure if he’s just a bit off the pace, but this is not the Sancho of old, it’s not the player they bought or the player we used to watch at Dortmund.”
