Bayern Munich join race for Serie A star amid Manchester United links

It looks like Napoli striker Victor Osimhen will be in high demand across Europe this summer.

Osimhen is among the top strikers to be linked with a move to Manchester United this summer, as per the Manchester Evening News, but the Red Devils can expect stiff competition for the 24-year-old’s signature.

According to Sky Germany, Bayern Munich are the latest to join the race to sign the Nigerian striker at the end of the season.

The report suggests that Osimhen is open to leaving Napoli as well as moving to the Bundesliga.

Osimhen is the most coveted strikers inn Europe, so it won’t be easy to prize him away for anything less than the €118m Romelu Lukaku went to Chelsea for two years ago.

Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis is known as a tough negotiator and he’s only lost one star player against his will in the past. That was when Juventus paid Gonzalo Higuain’s buy-out clause in 2016.

Osimhen to miss Champions League quarter-final vs AC Milan

The Nigerian will miss the Champions League quarter-final first leg away to AC Milan after being left out of Luciano Spalletti’s squad.

This season’s Serie A top scorer (21 goals so far) has been sidelined with a thigh strain.

“It doesn’t make a different, Napoli have great players, they’re all good,” Theo Hernandez said, as per BBC Sport.
