Manchester United in advanced talks to sign Watford youngster

Manchester United look set to beat Chelsea to the signing of highly-rated Watford youngster Harry Amass.

Harry Amass, 16, plays at left-back for Watford’s U-18s and has attracted transfer interest from Manchester United as well as Chelsea.

According to The Evening Standard, the England U-16 defender is in advanced talks with United, opting to leave Watford where he made the first-team squad for a match back in January.

Amass will be sold the idea of further developing his game at Carrington — at a top academy — and Watford are currently playing in the Championship.

There must be a reason other top clubs want Amass sound I’m happy to see United are ahead of the queue, so long as The Evening Standard are right with their new report.

It’s always a good sign when United are trying to add quality to the youth teams. That’s why we continue to produce the best players England has seen.

Amass wants to be the next one… like so many others!
