Manchester United could oversee exits of defensive duo

Manchester United are reportedly willing to oversee the exits of two players this summer.

According to Football Insider, Erik ten Hag is ready to say goodbye to Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof at the end of the season.

The manager is eyeing a move for a new central defender but may wait until he has seen the back of the pair, who have fallen out of favour this season.

Maguire has started just 12 matches in all competitions and five of which came in the Premier League. He is currently club captain, though the armband is more regularly donned by Bruno Fernandes in the 30-year-old’s absence.

Similarly, Lindelof has also made just five league starts but 15 in all competitions.

United pair to exit in summer

It is the sensational partnership between Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane that has kept Maguire and Lindelof out of action and consequently, they could be two of the first to leave when the summer transfer window opens.
