(Video) Bruno Fernandes secures brace after remarkable second half vs Fulham

Manchester United are going to Wembley once more this season after they completed a second-half turnaround against Fulham in their FA Cup quarter-final tie.

Erik ten Hag was forced into making a number of changes due to injuries and in the first half, it looked like United were struggling with fatigue.

Fulham’s intensity was difficult to match and their early second-half goal was deserved. A remarkable case of self-destruction would follow that goal, however, and United were back in the game.

Neat footwork from Jadon Sancho toom him around Bernd Leno and his shot was stopped by Willian’s arm on the goal line. The Brazilian winger was sent off after a VAR check, with Bruno Fernandes scoring the subsequent penalty.

Aleksandr Mitrovic was one of three Fulham representatives to be sent off in that incident, with manager Marco Silva joining his two star players on the walk of shame down the touchline.

Marcel Sabitzer completed United’s turnaround less than two minutes after Fernandes scored his goal and just seconds before the game ended, Fernandes rifled in his second to secure the win, as seen below.

United were far from convincing but with an unprecedented schedule, games like this are going to come and Ten Hag will be happy to have made it through.

United will now face Brighton & Hove Albion at Wembley next month as the Reds look to make it to another final this season.
