Barcelona defender bothered by Alejandro Garnacho’s celebrations

Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo has admitted that Alejandro Garnacho’s social media posts following Manchester United’s victory in the Europa League bothered him.

The two European giants faced off in the play-off rounds of the Europa League knockout stages. The first leg in Spain ended in a 2-2 draw before United got the job done at Old Trafford.

Garnacho, understandably delighted with the result, took to social media and made his feelings clear as he copied Pedri’s celebration.

He captioned the post: “The bigger team won.”

This upset Barcelona fans and their players.

When interviewed by Infobae, Araujo opened up on his feelings about Garnacho’s celebrations. He said: “Yes [it bothered him], everyone is as they are, but at that time it was no possible to put something like that. I respect everyone and I feel that humility is ahead of everything.

“Everyone expresses themselves as they want, but I prefer to have a lower profile and then show what I do on the pitch.

“That is football, he is very young and there is still a long way to go. You have to go calmly and humbly.”

The fact of the matter is Araujo wouldn’t be complaining if Garnacho was a Barcelona player and did the same after a match. He wouldn’t blink an eyelid.

Araujo has been linked with a move to United in the past, but it would take a mega-money move to prize him away from Camp Nou.

Garnacho is currently ruled out of action for the foreseeable future with an ankle injury.
