Manchester United vs Chelsea to be rescheduled due to UEL progression

Manchester United’s home clash with Chelsea will be rescheduled due to the Reds’ Europa League progression.

The Red Devils booked their place in another quarter-final this evening after seeing off their Spanish opponents Real Betis 1-0 in Seville.

The last-16 tie ended 5-1 across both legs, with most of the damage coming in the first leg at Old Trafford. United’s next opponents will be confirmed tomorrow.

Erik ten Hag’s side were due to host the Blues at home on Saturday, April 22 at 5.30pm, however, the Premier League meeting will now be moved as the last-eight of the UEL will kick off on the preceding Thursday.

FA Cup progression will further postpone Chelsea clash

It will also depend on this weekend’s FA Cup quarter-final outcomes, as the Reds take on an in-form Fulham at home on Sunday.

The Chelsea fixture’s date and kick-off time should be confirmed to supporters next week and it will be broadcast on Sky Sports.

The reverse fixture ended 1-1 at Stamford Bridge back in October and saw Casemiro open his United goalscoring account with an emphatic last-minute equaliser.
