(Video) Sir Alex Ferguson gives blunt response to Premier League title race question

Imagine being a journalist lucky enough to get close to Sir Alex Ferguson with a microphone in hand. I can think of so many better questions to ask him than who he wants to win the Premier League this season: Arsenal or Manchester City.

Sir Alex Ferguson was attending day 2 of the Cheltenham Festival when ITV Sport jumped at the opportunity to pose a ridiculous question to the Manchester icon and racehorse owner.

To no surprise, Ferguson wasn’t particular enthusiastic when asked if he wanted Arsenal or City to win the title. It’s not like he ever cared for either of those clubs.

Fergie responded: “I’m not interested.”

The legendary manager went on about his day and we hope he enjoyed some winners over the past two days. That would depend on whether he’s been backing the Irish horses or not.

United will be aiming to get involved in a title race next season but the Reds will be happy with the season to date. Erik ten Hag has delivered the Carabao Cup and we’re still in the FA Cup and Europa League, as well as the race for top four.

There’s still a lot to play for this season.
