(Video) Gary Neville backs Ten Hag to get an instant reaction after 7-0 defeat to Liverpool

Gary Neville backs Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag to get an instant reaction after Sunday’s horrific 7-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield.

The former Manchester United captain spoke about how difficult it can be as a player to go to Anfield and fight for a result. He even claims the stadium can do things to footballers than other stadiums can’t, which I happen to think is a complete exaggeration that gets overplayed in the media.

“It can honestly harm you,” Neville told Sky Sports when speaking about Anfield after the match.

“It can swallow you up. I’ve seen some great European teams come here and lose 3-4 goals. I’ve seen City come here a few years ago and just fall apart after Ederson made a mistake. Then, all of a sudden, they just collapsed.”

Neville continued to say it is not unusual for United to get beat at Anfield and he’s right, but the manner in which we lost was extremely disappointing.

This was not expected from a group of lads who have a newfound level of trust with the fans. That is something that will take time to repair again, but Neville has backed Ten Hag to get things right.

Neville added: “To fall apart in the way in which they did was really worrying, but I’ve got faith in Erik ten Hag.”
