Manchester United are through to the Europa League’s Round of Last 16.

The Red Devils beat Barcelona 4-3 on aggregate over two legs to secure their place in the competition’s next phase.

A 2-2 draw at the Nou Camp last week set up a finely poised return leg at Old Trafford on Thursday night, and although United put in a poor performance during the game’s first half, some inspired half-time tactical tweaks from Erik Ten Hag saw the Red Devils come flying out, and thanks to a quickfire goal from midfielder Fred, the side were able to equalise almost instantly.

Things got even better for fans after half-time substitute Antony netted a 73rd-minute winner and speaking after the game, midfielder and captain Bruno Fernandes hailed the atmosphere inside Old Trafford.

Speaking to BT Sport, the Portugal international said: “They’ve [the fans] been with us in the toughest moments.

“This season we’ve been good, we’ve been really good because also they’re always behind us. But this is something different – you can feel it, between them, between them and us. We have something special because they see that we are doing all we can to win games for them.

“Old Trafford was bouncing that’s why we get results.”
