Sought-after Manchester United target addresses interest from ‘top clubs’

Manchester United target Victor Osimhen is well aware of the interest he is garnering from clubs across Europe.

The Nigerian registered his 20th goal of the season last night whilst representing Napoli in the Champions League. He opened the scoring in an away tie against Eintracht Frankfurt in what ended as a 2-0 win in the Italians’ favour.

A January deal was completely off the table for Osimhen, as he has been instrumental to his side’s scintillating run of form this campaign. They sit first-placed in the Serie A table with a whopping 15-point lead over Inter Milan in second – and he has been pivotal in the process.

Supporters know that a new No.9 is the first thing on Erik ten Hag’s transfer list this summer; Anthony Martial’s ongoing injury issues will likely mean his exit is on the cards at the end of the season, and Wout Weghorst’s loan spell has been somewhat lacklustre so far – though we shouldn’t write him off just yet.

Speaking to ESPN last night, Osimhen addressed the interest he is receiving.

“When you are doing so well. top clubs around the world are watching. I’m focused on Napoli right now, and they have the final say. I just want to help my team win matches and trophies. At the end of the season, we will see what’s going to happen, but that is not up to me. It’s for the club to decide.”
