Barcelona midfielder could miss Manchester United Europa League tie

Manchester United take on Barcelona in their upcoming Europa League clash. The La Liga giants were dealt an injury blow tonight as Sergio Busquets was forced off after just eight minutes during a La Liga encounter with Sevilla.

Busquets required treatment after a challenge from Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri. This left Barcelona manager Xavi with no choice but to take him off.

Former AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie was brought on to replace the 34-year-old at the Nou Camp, but don’t get too excited. Even though Busquets is a vastly experienced professional, there is no denying that he is not the player he used to be.

Barcelona fans may still argue that he has been an important player for them this season, featuring in 18 of their 20 La Liga matches. It comes at a bad time with matches against Villarreal and United coming up.

The apparent ankle injury puts his chances of playing against United later this month into serious doubt.

Barcelona are also without France winger Ousmane Dembele, who was previously linked with a move to Old Trafford.
