Manchester United without trio for Carabao Cup semi-final first leg

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag will be without three players for Wednesday night’s Carabao Cup semi-final first leg.

United take on Nottingham Forest at the City Ground at 20:00 GMT, looking to bounce back from Sunday’s 3-2 defeat against Arsenal which saw an 11-game unbeaten run come to an end.

Ten Hag’s side go into the game as favourites and it will be a big bonus to have Casemiro back available. I suspect he will start against Forest and the manager will want to be in a strong position for the second leg at Old Trafford a week later.

The Dutchman will hope our preparations for the game are enough to get the result United need to book their place in the League Cup final.

United go into the game with three players unavailable, including: Diogo Dalot, Anthony Martial and Jadon Sancho.

When asked to give an update on his squad ahead of the match, Ten Hag told reporters (via Manchester Evening News): “No, all the players who were not available for Arsenal game. So Dalot, Martial, Sancho are also not available for tomorrow.”

United have Reading in the FA Cup at the weekend, which would be a good time to give players minutes after returning from injury, but everything depends on their recovery plan.

I hope we aren’t without Dalot for much longer!
