Manchester United have three alternatives to Harry Kane

Manchester United are still on the hunt for a striker despite the loan arrival of Wout Weghorst from Burnley. The Dutchman has joined on a short-term agreement and is set to return to his parent club at the end of this season.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s controversial departure late last year resulted in United scouring the market for a replacement, with Anthony Martial still struggling with neverending fitness issues.

United have held a longstanding interest in Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane but a move has never materialised amid the London club’s hard stance on domestic transfers.

Kane is, however, into the final 18 months of his contract and in recent days, there have been reports that United are ready to renew their interest in the England talisman. That’s according to the Manchester Evening News, who go on to name three alternatives to Kane.

As per the report, Napoli striker Victor Osimhen is also under consideration by the Old Trafford hierarchy whilst Erik ten Hag is an admirer of Benfica star Goncalo Ramos and Ajax player Mohammed Kudus.

SN’s verdict…
United opted against spending big on Kane two years ago when Manchester City were also interested and although the price may have dropped now, it remains to be seen whether the club’s stance has changed under Ten Hag.

Kane would, undeniably, immediately improve United and he could be the final missing piece as Ten Hag attempts to get United back to winning ways.

He would not be the long-term solution United are craving though, albeit he may offer three to four years of elite goalscoring.
