Amad Diallo wins POTM award in Championship

Manchester United youngster Amad Diallo has been superb on loan at Sunderland this season and he’s been named Player of the Month in the Championship.

When Erik ten Hag was asked about recalling Amad Diallo from his loan spell at Sunderland, the Manchester United manager suggested that he did not want to hinder the winger’s development. The Ivorian winger has been pulling up tress in the Championship and it comes as a relief for the club after he struggled to make the grade at Rangers last season.

Just few weeks on from when Ten Hag made those comments about keeping the winger at Sunderland for the remainder of the season, Amad collects the POTM award in the Championship.

Amad received 35 per cent of the public vote for December, during which he scored three goals.

There is no reason to recall Amad right now when he’s doing so well and I fully expect United’s coaches to assess him properly when he returns before the squad jets off on pre-season tour.

Hopefully Amad gets a chance at United next season. He currently has nine appearances to his name for the Reds.
