Manchester United draw up three-man shortlist of strikers, including Harry Kane

Manchester United are yet to sign a stop-gap striker in January, but a report suggests the recruitment team are already drawing up plans for the summer.

According to ESPN, the Red Devils have set three main targets for the summer – including Harry Kane, Victor Osimhen and Benjamin Sesko.

The plan for January is to sign Burnley striker, Wout Weghorst, who is currently on loan at Besiktas. It is understood that Erik ten Hag wants the fellow Dutchman for the remainder of the season before pursuing a bigger name in the summer.

A statement from Besiktas on the matter suggests the Turkish side are not going to let Weghorst leave without a fight.

ESPN note that Kane’s current deal at Tottenham will expire in 2024.

One would think Spurs will be under pressure to let him go this year unless Kane is willing to agree fresh terms with the London club.

United look to have a brighter future under Erik ten Hag and there is belief growing that the Dutchman will bring trophies back to Old Trafford.

The England captain has 15 goals in 18 Premier League matches this season.

Let us know which striker you think United should sign in the summer.
