Manchester United are finally set to make their return to the Premier League as they welcome Nottingham Forest to Old Trafford early next week.

Erik ten Hag has welcomed the majority of his squad back to Carrington following the conclusion of this winter’s World Cup, with finalists Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez being the only doubts.

Ten Hag named five players to have featured at the World Cup in the line-up to face Burnley in the Carabao Cup earlier this week but a more familiar starting eleven is expected in the Premier League.

Martin Dubravka started the game against Vincent Kompany’s side but David de Gea is almost certain to return, whilst it is likely that Aaron Wan-Bissaka will keep his place due to Diogo Dalot’s injury.

Luke Shaw will come back in after making a substitute appearance against Burnley, whilst winger Antony will be hoping for his first start in several months.

Marcus Rashford is one of the first names on the teamsheet after his stellar form this season and Anthony Martial could lead the line, starting two consecutive league games for United for the first time since 2021.

Predicted Manchester United line-up (4-2-3-1): De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Maguire, Lindelof, Shaw; Casemiro, Eriksen; Antony, Fernandes, Rashford; Martial
