Man United trio take part as Brazil cruise to win over Serbia

Brazil are off the mark in this year’s World Cup and the South American giants could now be considered favourites to win the tournament after Argentina’s shock defeat to Saudi Arabia.

Tite’s men faced off against Serbia in their first group game and what looked to be a tricky game at first proved to be quite comfortable for Brazil.

The Selecao dominated proceedings from the first minute and although they could not find the breakthrough in the first 60 minutes, it always left like their dominance was going to pay off. Eventually, two goals from Richarlison ensured they got off to a dream start in Qatar.

Manchester United star Casemiro was named in the starting line-up and he showed exactly why he’s the best in the world in his position, controlling the midfield in and out of possession.

The 30-year-old initiated several good attacks and broke up play when the ball was moving in the other direction. He also saw an effort clatter the crossbar in the second half.

Fred replaced Lucas Paqueta in the second half as Brazil looked to see the game out, with Antony replacing Neymar later after an injury to the Paris Saint-Germain star. Alex Telles was an unused substitute.

Brazil will now face Switzerland, who beat Cameroon earlier on Thursday, next week and victory over them will secure their passage to the next round of fixtures.
