Manchester United legend Roy Keane has admitted that the Glazer family’s decision to put the club up for sale is “good news”, adding that there had no relationship with the fans anyway.
The Glazers announced on Tuesday night that Manchester United is up for sale.
They are set to battle with FSG and Liverpool for the highest bidder.
Keane, who left the club under a grey cloud, has never hid away from the fact he thinks the Glazers have held Manchester United back.
“That’s good news for United fans, again, the last few years they’ve wanted [the] owners out, there’s been no relationship, they’re business people so it’s good news for the fans,” Keane told ITV, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News.
Before signing for Celtic, after leaving Manchester United after a fallout with Sir Alex Ferguson in 2005, Keane spoke to FC United of Manchester about potentially joining the fan-owned outfit which formed in the wake of the Glazer takeover.
