Former Manchester City captain and current Burnley manager Vincent Kompany aimed a dig towards Cristiano Ronaldo when questioned on the prospect of signing the forward now that he has left Manchester United.
It was announced on Tuesday that Manchester United had terminated Ronaldo’s contract after a mutual agreement between both parities. The decision came after his bombshell interview with Piers Morgan, in which he detailed his lack of respect for manager Erik ten Hag.
However, Kompany did not hesitate to make a joke regarding Ronaldo to his fellow pundits in the BBC Sport studio.
When asked by Gary Lineker if he would sign Ronaldo for Burnley, the former defender said: “We need players who can run.”
Nah Kompany is mocking it about Ronaldo😭😭😭😭 pic.twitter.com/5ISrGGPZh1
